Roku SD Player Reviews
The Roku SD Player has many positive reviews! Many customers who purchased the Roku SD player Standard Definition edition were immensely satisfied with their purchase. There were over 126 customer reviews for the Roku SD Player. In addition, there were also some negative viewpoints on the Roku SD streaming video player. We’re going to provide details on both sides of the issue so that you can have a firm grasp on the benefits of the Roku SD streaming media player.
Reviewers are stating that the Roku media system is a low cost method to reduce your cable and satellite bill. Families have watched over 50 movies through the Roku player when combined with their Netflix subscription. Another reviewer stated that the Roku SD Player was easy to use and has never had any problems with it. One customer gave the Roku 5 stars and stated that the Roku media player was easy to install, easy to use and easy to set up. If you are a couch potato you will love the Roku SD video player.
One happy customer explained in detail about the Roku SD player. Customer explained that, “Last but not least, you need to carefully consider which Roku you purchase. As nice as it would be to have an all-in-one box which includes all features at one price, currently you have to choose from three versions: the SD, HD and HD-XR. To put it plainly, they ALL have the same exact features. The only difference being the SD is limited to streaming only SD content, the HD can stream all HD and SD content, and the HD-XR can stream all HD and SD content and also includes an as of yet unused USB port (maybe for an external hard drive in the future?) and the ability to link with your “N” network. Given that the price difference is marginal, I would probably grab the next best up from what you are currently needing. If you have any intention at all at any point in the near or distant future to buy an HD TV, get the HD version. Its $20 more and you will spend much more than that getting a new box if you ever do get a new TV. Also, if you are at all enticed by the possibility of having an external hard drive to play all your own media get the HD-XR. It’s not been said what they intend to do with this USB port, but I think it seems fairly obvious what their plans are for it. You may not want to invest the money in a feature that is not yet supported, however. I do think it’s a bit cheap to charge $30 more for a feature that should have been standard on all versions, but it is what it is.”
In addition to the glowing reviews of the Roku SD Player, there are also some negative aspects of the Roku SD player. The reviewers that stated unhappiness with their purchase said the SD model had issues about the box dying and the wireless functionality not working properly. One customer complained about the Roku player died when it just past the warranty deadline. On the Roku website, there was no contact us tab. Another reviewer stated that the remote for the Roku player only worked if they were 1 inch away from the Roku set box.
Thinking of Buying Roku SD Player
The Roku SD Player offers an alternative to the costly cable service that simply repeats the same movies over and over for weeks and even months at a time. With the Roku SD player, you can instantly download Netflix movies, watch YouTube, listen to Pandora, as well as watch Amazon digital movies right on your own TV. If you are in the market for the Standard Definition version of Roku, you can get this one at an affordable price.
